She certainly is remarkable. Only 2 years old with various disabilities, still unable to walk with swallowing difficulties, a hole in her brain called Septo Optic Dysplasia lacking septum pellucidum plus additional anomalies,but she is thriving and an inspiration to all of us around her. She IS Grace the Gladiator (instagram #gracethegladiator)and every bit of a miracle,almost dying 3 times, surgeries, with months in hospitals, she wasn't even supposed to be conceived, she lights up every room!
What are Gracie's favorite activities?Anything in the water or on the trampoline, going to a park and anything with other children. Going to her therapy, 6 appts weekly, aka what we call going to have fun. Spending time with her mom, dad, and family. Sometimes real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting the biggest battles
How would $25,000 impact your family?We have a very low income family struggling to put food on the table and make ends meet. Gracie's anomalies require at least 6 therapy appointments a week (45 minutes away) and several trips to children's hospital for specialty care. We could better provide for her and ensure her medical needs are better met. She wears AFO's (ankle foot orthodic) as well as KAFO's (knee ankle foot) that require special footwear. She may also be fitted for a wheel chair by beginning of next year.
