Mateo

Mateo has this sass to him . He communicates in his own ways and is learning every day . He rolls his eyes a lot which says so many things like attitude, as if he’s trying to say yeah ok mom can I go now. He scratches his head when he’s frustrated or overwhelmed it’s hilarious because it’s giving old man energy. He just wants to go do his own thing . He can be so silly sometimes and it’s such a great feeling to know he feels things and just going through life empty and emotionless.

Mateo’s favorite thing to do is run around. We go to Safeway so he can run around freely without anyone judging us too harshly. It’s amazing how much he interacts with us through the store and will hand lead and point to things he wants to see . He loves playing with water and cars . He loves his iPad also, he has learned so many phrases from movies and repeat them. I just love his voice. Hearing anything he says is like magic happening. Seeing him play with cars as cars is a blessing.

There are so many emotions just dreaming about the future. This amount will greatly impact Mateo’s life . Being able to provide speech therapy for him will help with emotional outbursts and regulation. We’d love to apply for apartment or duplex. We can definitely use more space for Mateo . I’d love to have a dedicated safe space for him to grow into . Being on the spectrum can be challenging so he needs more sensory input items instead of self harming or unintentionally hurting me .
