Salem

Salem is truly the most loving kid. Due to her genetic condition she had difficulty communicating. She shows her love through hugs, kisses and holding hands. She is a truly a gentle soul and does everything With grace. Her name means “peace” and she encompasses all things sweet and serene. She is enrolled in several different therapies and they all use the word “determined” for her. She spent her first month of her life in the NICU and has overcome so much in her first three years of life.

Salem loves anything that is sensory seeking. She loves to dance, jump, climb, play hide and seek. She is always down to play in the water or splash pad. At times she can curious about what others are doing and will want to try different things if she sees her friends doing it. She is a thrill seeker for sure, but has to be on her own terms. She likes to also just play on the floor with mom and dad and give tight hugs and snuggles.

Honestly that money would be profound for our family. Mom is a 2-time cancer survivor and was told she wouldn’t be able to have kids. 6 years of infertility and we got Salem. Our miracle. She was born with a rare genetic disorder called 3p duplication syndrome that causes developmental delay and medical issues. That money would go to Salem’s future therapies and medical bills. We would also put some of it aside for her future. We want her be able to do whatever she wants despite her disability.
